Important Information.

Choosing Your Puppy.

Choosing a puppy with the right genetic make-up will help to avoid disappointment as your puppy grows into an adult. When considering which puppy to choose keep in mind that crossbred puppies are renowned for having more healthy constitution than purebred dogs due to a lack of inherited problems that are often displayed by many purebred dogs, which come from a smaller gene pool.

Choosing Conscious Breeder.

When choosing a breeder ensure that:  • the puppies  are raised in a clean, non-smoking, chemical free environment,  •  the puppies and their mother are kept healthy and stress free, •  the puppies begin the socialization process with humans and other dogs from very early age  and are provided with toys to play and explore.

At What Age Should A Puppy Be Taken Home

The best age to bring your puppy home is about six to seven weeks. By this age, he will have spent enough time learning social skills from his mother and littermates and is ready to begin his social life in a household full of humans. A puppy of about six to seven weeks will benefit more from being in a family where he will learn how to be a pet dog than staying with his littermates learning how to live with a pack of dogs.

What to Expect When Raising a Puppy

Basic everyday training with use of positive methods rather than punishment will ensure that your puppy grows to be friendly rather than fearful.
Many people expect a puppy to turn into a well behaved, mature dog in an instant, they become are horrified at the puppy’s “misbehaviour” causing chaos in their unleashed enthusiasm for life. What they don’t realize is that these things that puppies do are absolutely normal. This is not misbehaviour to a dog’s way of thinking, they are not human and don’t have a clue how to live like a human being. It is up to you to show them the way, communication and patience is what it takes to educate these creatures to co-exist with us.

Learning some of their language and teaching them some of ours is the only way we can connect with our beloved pets. If people don't educate themselves, the fantasizing of a lovely, well mannered dog, which is also happy and spirited is not likely to come to fruition. If you know that  your young pup is teething and not at all aggressive it could save  a lot of frustration. By setting realistic expectations in keeping with a dog’s normal developmental stages, you will make a rough road a lot smoother. Patience and keeping our expectations reasonable is the key. The more you understand of canine behaviour, the better your puppy will develop into the well mannered, obedient adult. The responsibility how healthy, happy, loyal, friendly and well-behaved your puppy will turn out lies only within you.

We recommend few very helpful books, where you can find lots of useful tips how to housebreak, train and raise a happy and healthy puppy. Click on the link to the books.

Small children & Puppies

Puppies require almost as much time as a child does, parents with small children are very busy; they often do not have the free time or desire to spend hours to train, or walk the puppy. Puppies are puppies, they jump up, scratch and bite the children. Toddlers are toddlers, they pull  ears, tails, poke eyes and want to "investigate" the puppy. Separating puppy from toddler will cause puppy to become uptight and unhappy due to lack of attention and exercise. Many problems occur because the puppy was purchased in wrong time and it is not fair to the dog. Pets are a truly wonderful addition to a family, but if the time isn't right, no one will be happy.

Choosing  Your Veterinarian

Your vet should be someone you have confidence in, someone that is more like a friend not the authority figure. Most conventional vets are trained in a specific way and rarely have any knowledge of homoeopathy.

Today we live in a society of hypnotised mind state, where simply by repetition of a false statement it becomes accepted as a truth and sadly most of us believe that Vaccines protect our dogs against disease and ensure their long, healthy happy life.

But the fact is: frequent vaccination cause health deterioration in our pets and may cause more injuries and deaths than they prevent.

So please before you decide to take your pet for his next shot - do your own research - don't ask your Vet for advice, as his opinion might be influenced by Pharmaceutical Industry.

* Pet Vaccine Myths *

Many of us believe that when our pets get sick a Vet is going to save them by giving a pill, a treatment or a surgery. The reality is that vets might not have the cures that our pet needs; what is offered by the traditional system is only the possibility to treat the symptoms never being able to cure. Animals will naturally fast when they are sick or injured. If we get out of the way and allow nature to take its course, we will find out that animals can heal from any problem. Water Fast for couple days is the simplest, easiest and most effective way for detoxification and rejuvenation, as the toxic load is reduced, the body will heal itself.

Feeding The Puppy.

Feed your puppy with the best food you can find. Look for holistic or natural products, read the labels. Some preservatives are necessary - just make sure that thy are natural these include vitamin C &  E. Avoid products with synthetic preservatives, artificial colorings, sugar, chemical addictives.  choose the pet food with no added "ground yellow corn" or at least where it is not listed as a first ingredient.

Until twelve weeks feed the puppy three times daily - morning, noon, evening. After switch to two only -  morning  and evening meals. Avoid on demand feeding, where the food is always available. That can cause boredom and obesity.

*Never overfeed your dog, obesity is a serious medical problem, and there is no doubt that a lean dog is happier, healthier and lives longer.

Adding teaspoon of flaxseed oil to your dog's food will keep his/her coat more healthy and shiny. Supplement your puppy with vitamins. Vitamin C is essential for healthy bones and joints.
Keep fresh (non-fluoride) water available at all times. Give your puppy/dog raw veggies and fresh fruits as a healthy snack or treat - they love it.
Provide rawhide chews or raw beef bones for healthy gums and teeth.

Exercise And Socialization:

Exercise is as important to puppy well-being as proper nutrition, if a pup lacks either, healthy psychological development cannot occur. Your pet needs plenty of play space and lots of playtime with you.

"We are finite and separate, and neurotic, while the consciousness of an animal is at peace and eternal. We strive and go crazy to become more important. Animals rest and sleep and enjoy the company of each other. We think we have evolved upwards from animals but we have lost almost all of their qualities and abilities". - Stuart Wilde.
